Big Announcement from The MomHood!!!

First off, I want to thank ALL OF YOU for being so faithful to The Hood. I never dreamed this would turn out so well for me and I never imagined I would have this much fun. And getting to know all of you, around the world, has been the biggest honor and pleasure. I have met some truly unique and inspirational people here in the Blogging World, and I have not regretted once, my decision to start this chapter in my life!

I wrote a post a month ago that included some of my blogging goals that I wanted to achieve by the end of the year. Yes I am a little ahead of myself here, but I wanted to do a little something special this month. Also, November is the month I turn 30. Yes 30, so its an extra special month for me, and of course The MomHood is at the center of it all. Not only is it special for me, but I want to make it special for you too!

As it states in my post, I had a goal of gaining 500 followers (very special friends) by Christmas. I have come very close to achieving that goal and 446 very special people are following The Hood (I heart you so much!). Of course, many of you know that the biggest focus I have is my photography. I participate in Photo Challenges and share my own galleries, and I absolutely adore the art of Photography.

Which Brings me to the first part of my announcement!

I AM DOING A 5×7 PHOTO GIVEAWAY!!!

From November 1st to the 24th, I’ll be hosting a giveaway that honors and Thanks all of my lovely followers. I have chosen 4 photos that you can view here for the giveaway (below), that I adore and want to share with you and I’ve decided to throw in a 5th one as a surprise. Without all the support, feedback and comments, I wouldn’t have gotten as far as I have with The MomHood, and all of you have had nothing but nice and encouraging things to say about my photography. So I thought, what a better way to honor you and The Hood, than with the photos that helped me get to where I am!

All you have to do to get these photos is leave a comment about:

• Why Photography is a key element in our lives.
• What photos you would like to see more of on The Hood in the future.
• Leave a link to your blog so I can enter your name into the drawing for a chance to win some photographic gems (plus I love to read new and exciting things you folks are sharing)

Let’s continue…

I also stated in the post about goals, that I wanted to start my own weekly challenge by October 1st. BOOM, succeeded. We are now in the 5th week of Prompt Stomp and it has been going great so far. For all of you who are a part of the Stomp, I Thank you from the bottom of my heart for joining in and submitting such great work! It has been a pleasure and I’ve had fun reading everything you have shared! And I hope to see more people join in throughout the weeks!

As a lot of you know, November is a big month over at National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and a lot of you are also gearing up because you are a part of it. I have been seeing a lot of it popping up on Blogs that I follow, emails, Twitter and Facebook this past month, so I looked into it, and than I signed up for it. I have decided to try and write a novel in a month.

Turning 30 is kind of a big, life changing point in someones life. We want to change, we want to reflect, we want to move forward. And this past year has shown me just how much growing up is rewarding and sometimes scary. So I’ve decided to compile some of my journal entries into a collection for a novel.

The MomHood has become the creative outlet in my life, and the new venture with the novel will touch the more deeper, humorous and intimate side. And thinking about how I have run The Hood these past few months, some of the things I want to share don’t quite fit into the style of my blog. So I created a new side to The Hood with a new blog named Diary of a 30 Somethin. This new blog will highlight my writings from the NaNoWriMo and the two will co exist together, eventually making The Hood separate, but not forgotten. Throughout the next few weeks, the more serious and on topic posts from The Hood, will be merged over to 30 Somethin. Those post will still be available in The Hood but will fit in more with the new blog.

The new blog is open and ready to view, but is still in the building process. November 1st marks the first day of NaNoWriMo, so the new blog will move right along with the progress of that. I do hope you can make a pit stop every now and then and see the progress with me. This is a new adventure and experience and I want to share it all with you! As always, with starting a new blog, feedback from you is always appreciated.
